The film photography & darkroom work of David Kirby

New Toy

The internet, once you manage to wade through all of the political updates, click-bait, arguments and pictures described perpetually as "stunning", is actually a very useful thing.  And so it was that a week ago I was on my way a few miles up the road from where I live to pick up my latest acquisition as part of my ongoing quest to become a champion in the darkroom.  Behold, my new toys!

That's a nice little 10x12 dry mount press, tacking iron and a box and roll of dry mounting tissue, all for the princely sum of (wait for it) £25!  Well done internet, you've done it again!  Hopefully I will get the hang of dry mounting without too much issue.  At the very least I should be able to use it to flatten my prints out.

Anyway, I have finished rubbing it in now and return to my holiday (I am currently up in the Scottish highlands for the week, please don't rob my house) and the promise of mountains to come.

Happy printing!
